Children | N/A | The Resource Center provides free hearing aid loans for children to use at school when their family cannot afford to purchase them or while a child’s hearing aids are being repaired. Hearing aids are donated by community organizations. The school audiologist fits and programs the hearing aids for each student.
For those who wish to purchase hearing aids, The school audiologist is available to assist with selection and provide fitting and programming free of charge.

| University of Central Missouri, Welch-Schmidt Center for Communication Disorders – Hearing Aid Laboratory | All ages | Sliding Fee Scale | The Welch-Schmidt Center for Communication Disorders (Center) is a training center for undergraduate and graduate students in the program of speech language pathology and audiology. Licensed, certified speech-language pathologists and audiologists supervise the student clinicians. Due to our low cost and location in the Warrensburg community, we have a large potential client list. We operate year round during University semesters. Scheduling of service is based on the student clinician’s class schedule and supervision availability. Scheduling for therapy services and diagnostic services takes place at the beginning of each semester, roughly early January, early June, and early September. | A Client Schedule must be completed each semester you wish to attend to indicate your interest in obtaining or continuing treatment services and when you are available. If you have limited availability in your schedule, for example only available at 4 or 5 pm, you can expect a longer wait to attend. However, we cannot guarantee that you will be accepted for services or when you will get a call, as appointments are scheduled based on the potential client list as well as needs and availability of students, clinical instructors, and physical space in the Center.

The Miracle-Ear store will make their referral and forward your application to the Miracle-Ear Foundation for approval. You will receive notification by mail within 3 weeks if your application has been approved or denied services.

| Oticon Pediatrics Loaner Bank Program | Children ages 0-3 | The program is used to quickly get sound to young children to bridge the gap while the family waits for insurance approval or other programs. | Retiree At-Cost Hearing Aid Program/Retiree Hearing Aid Purchase Program (RACHAP/RHAPP) | Military Retirees | Military Retirees can obtain hearing aids at significant savings by using the RACHAP/RHAPP program. Two hearing aids can usually be purchased for less than $2,000. Exact costs are variable and subject to change at any time without notice.

For Missouri, services are provided at Fort Leonard Wood for Military Retirees who lived within 75 miles of General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital.
Retirees At Cost Hearing Aid Program (RACHAP) – Participation in RACHAP is based on available resources and personnel. Hearing aid services are not provided to dependents of Retirees. See TRICARE website for additional details on hearing aid coverage at:

To receive hearing aids through VA, you must first register at the health Administration/enrollment section of the VA Medical Center of your choice. The following documents are usually needed at the time of registration: a copy of the Veteran’s DD214, driver’s license and health insurance (if available). There are several ways to enroll:
· In person at any VA Medical Center or Clinic · Online by filling out the Form 10-10EZ. · By mailing completed Form 10-10EZ to the Medical Center of your choice (please be sure to sign your application or it cannot be processed for enrollment) Once registered (or if already registered), you may schedule an appointment at the Audiology and Speech Pathology Clinic for an evaluation of your hearing. The audiologist will make a clinical determination on the need for hearing aids and/or other hearing assistive devices. If hearing aids are recommended and fit, the hearing aids, repairs, and future batteries will all be at no charge to you, as long as you maintain VA eligibility for care.
